Who is Brett Rogstad?

Brett Rogstad was born in 1979 in Sacramento, California. As a child, Brett's learned to shoot, process, and print his own black and white photos. This passion developed into an interest towards visual storytelling.

In 2002, Brett moved to San Francisco to pursue his BA in film production at San Francisco State University where he focused on directing and cinematography. His undergraduate thesis, “Here, With Me,” was nominated for the Princess Grace Award by SFSU.  No...he didn't win, but the nomination was an affirmation that maybe he's not too bad at this filmmaking thing.

After graduating, Brett stayed in the San Francisco bay area where he worked in corporate media, non-profit documentary, and commercial advertising.

In 2010, Brett moved to Singapore to continue his university studies at NYU Tisch Asia. While pursuing his graduate degree, Brett worked on films in India, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Japan, and Singapore.

He now applies his extensive cinematic background to video game development. Focusing on lighting, Brett uses his experience and understanding of cinematography (composition, contrast, color, blocking, and movement) to convey dynamic visual storytelling in the interactive medium of games. His lighting work can be seen in a wide range of IPs (The Walking Dead, Batman, Minecraft) and across many video game & interactive platforms (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Netflix).
