Lighting Artist Portfolio - The Walking Dead: A New Frontier
Telltale's "The Walking Dead - A New Frontier" (yes, that is the full title) was the first project where my lighting chops were tested in this brave new virtual world of interactive entertainment. The story was your standard overly melodramatic soap opera with zombies, and is considered the weakest of the Telltale zombie games. With that said, I had a lot of fun exploring the possibilities of lighting in a virtual environment after so many years of working on physical sets. Looking back, I would say my work is confident and professional (otherwise I probably wouldn't be posting it here). Most of my grievances came in learning about performance restrictions and realizing, just like on a movie set, you have limitations that you have to solve with creative solutions.
